The members of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee met on May 5, 2014 in the Council Chambers, at 7:15 p.m.

1. BUSINESS:
1.a) REPORT RC-14-007
Re:
Niagara Lake Shore Cemetery Scattering Garden
Moved by Councillor Maria Bau-Coote, that the recommendations contained in Parks and Recreation Report RC-14-007 be adopted to include:
1.1 That we approve in principle the establishment of a scattering garden at the Niagara Lake Shore Cemetery; and,
1.2 That Town staff and the donor prepare a mutually agreeable design for a scattering garden for the Niagara Lake Shore Cemetery expansion site.

1.b) REPORT RC-14-008
Re:
Queen Street Tree Inventory and 2014 Maintenance Program
Moved by Councillor Terry Flynn, that the recommendation contained in Parks and Recreation Report RC-14-008 be adopted to include:
1.1 That the Queen Street Tree Inventory and the 2014 maintenance program be approved.

1.c) REPORT RC-14-009
Re:
St. Davids Ratepayers Association Historical Marker Stones and
Plaque Project
Moved by Councillor Gary Zalepa, that the recommendations contained in Parks and Recreation Report RC-14-009 be adopted to include:
1.1 That the Corporation of the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake approve in principle the St. Davids historical markers project; and,
1.2 That approval is granted for the placement of up to 6 historical markers around a flagpole to be erected at Lowrey Park; and,
1.3 That approval be granted for historic markers to be placed on Town property at the three additional town sites as shown on Attachment 1 (to this report); and,
1.4 That the Town agree to partner with the St. Davids Ratepayers Association in requesting permission to place historic markers on Regional property, should that be required.

2. NEW BUSINESS:
